This improved Recumbent chair was patented by Daws circa 1830,
Described :
[ by elevating a spring beneath the arm of the chair. where the hand rests,
it may be converted into a couch, & any required inclination given to the back & arms
& by drawing out a sliding stool beneath , the length may be increased, ]

This chair press buttons under each arm, to recline. there is brass ratchet teeth to hold the chair back into different positions,
pull out stool , beneath seat with fold down legs,
Stamps on back chair legs R.Daws Patent with G R & CROWN,
Also brass embossed inset plaque,
WIV scroll carving under arms, tulip carving on front legs,
